Minutes from meeting Thursday, October  7th, 2010 - Pastime Lounge Meeting Room - 7:00 p.m.

Sugarbeet Festival- Bonnie moved to pay the rest of the bills from the festival and Nancy 2nd it

Christmas Tree lights- Nancy has ordered, the banner will cost $4-5,000 (Happy Holidays)

Tables & Chairs-  Need to find out how much it would be to get more chairs and possibly a stand to have the chairs are on.

Signs on the Outskirts of Town-  No-one was at this meeting to report from the committee.

Visitors center-  Get the posters that were in the Pastime for the Sugarbeet Festival and hang them in the visitors center.  Also Nancy has a t.v. she is willing to get something put together to have pictures from all over Chinook displayed at the Visitors Center.

NHS- Would like some help finding some kind of history to put on signs to put in at the Cenntenial Park, would like our input on what to put on signs.  3- 4x8 signs.  Would also like help finding someone to put lights on the big tree in the park, Redrock Power or Haney.  The lights on the tree need to be taken off,  fire department- Barb will contact Heather on a meeting for the signs

Adopt A Highway-  A sign with our name on it if you agree to adopt the highway- Us Highway 2 between mile post 402 and 404- Luann Burkhartsmeyer motioned and Larry Surber 2nd.

CTEP-  they are for us getting a landscaped sign on each side of town and we need to match 13.24%- asked for $30,000 or $60,000 concrete work with sidewalks.  Signs win

Parade Of Lights-  25 floats for the 25th Parade.  Chamber float with a big 25 on it.

Small Buisness Awards- Nominated Bonnie Weber for the Women in Business,  Kelcey and Nancy Diemert for the Family owned Small Business.  Jason and Kyle Fisher for the Family?-

Old Wooden Store fronts- Shannon Sattelene’s relatives the Hahns, will donate  doors to the Chamber if we have a use for them- will need to be picked up in Rudyard- will discuss at the next meeting.  Larry will call on them.

Class of 61’ and 62’ - want to know when the Sugarbeet festival is in 2011 so that they can plan their reunion- they want to know a date and theme.  Theme is oil and gas

LARGE SUGARBEET STATUE - Colleen had brought a photograph of a large sugarbeet that she had encountered in her travels and was wondering if something would be possible to add to our Visitors Center as a unique draw.  We will be discussing later on when the building is complete and operational.

Notary Training
- Tabled at this time - do not know if we will have enough interest in it to justify bringing the trainer down.

Marquees - The PTO has decided to take some of the funds for the Marquees and use for another project.  The Chamber decided to hold off on the marquees until we have a visitors center/rest area to place it at.

PARADE OF LIGHTS - Rita would like to see 25 floats at the 25th anniversary of the Parade of Lights.  Rita agreed to write letters to try and get people involved, etc.  Tabled.
