Christmas Lights - Talked with Deb Vandenburg of Havre about their Christmas Lights, reported on that project. Nancy would like to see an adopt-a-light program go into effect. Approved to send a letter to the editor about the project and what it could do to help the community achive this. Heather and Nancy will work on.
Storage Shed - Armory - We received a letter from the City of Chinook allowing us to use part of the old armory for storage of our tables and chairs. We purchased ??? tables from a group in Great Falls called Twilight Center for $600. We need to pick them up, Chuck said he would be able to pick them up sometime. We have already paid for them.
Water Tower Project - Chuck to finalize the project - he will be getting the painting company here as soon as it warms up. Chuck's project money is close, but we need a little bit more. Donations always accepted.
Grates around Trees on Main Street - Still waiting for it to warm up for the city to help us with them. Rec'd letter from Lorraine Mulonet saying they were aware of it and they would handle it soon.
Chinook PTO - Putting together a committee for the sign project - will meet next month to discuss the project.
All Class Reunion Lunch - Chamber BBQ Scheduled for Friday night of the reunion - Larry, Nancy, Heather, Bonnie, Keith and Keri will help organize this project. We need to discuss how many to plan for, organize a committee, etc.
Also decided that the Chamber needs to have a table setup at the banquet to sell Raffle Tickets as well as sell Memberships to the Chamber. Need to put together a timeframe of who is handling the table at what times at the next meeting. Decided on BBQ Beef from Max Hofeldt - Coleslaw from Finley's - Chips and a Roll.
Grants - CTEP Funds - Setting up a time to talk with the Commissioners about our projects. Welcome to Chinook Signs and Walking Path.
Annual Banquet - Nancy moved to change the place of the banquet to the Pastime because the Eagles were having a cribbage tournament. Decided on a speaker to attend the banquet, the President of the Montana Outfitters and Guides Association. Heather moved, LuAnn 2nd. Voted on Unanimous. Keough Fournier - Colleen to make sure he will attend. Heather will send a personal invitation to him also. Heather is making postcards to invite people to the Chamber Banquet - and we are also inviting the Havre Chamber, Jay Anderson, Don Richman, County Commissioners, Jamie Neibauer, Jeremy Kinyon and the Fort Belknap Dept. Heads.
Sugarbeet Festival 2009 - Need to finalize the theme at this next meeting. Heather emailed Roger Jergeson and asked him to come to the banquet and Larry contacted Harold & Rhea Miller. Would like to see the Graingrowers Assn. Involved and they have lots of neat ideas.
SEGP Grant Program - Did not get awarded the grant, we will keep trying.
New Raffle - Tickets are going to be printed and Max was going to ask Mike how long it would be to order it. Selling will begin soon and it will be put on the website.
Need to have a budget meeting sometime soon.
Next Meeting to be held April 8th, 2009 at Pastime Lounge at 7:00 p.m.
Community Center - Waiting to hear on letter to Dixons.
Tables and Chairs - Chuck will be going to pickup the tables and chairs we acquired from Great Falls. Heather to ask for money from Triangle Telephone grant to help defray the costs of the tables and chairs.
Memberships - Coming in as we speak.
Advertising on the Chameber Site - Still waiting to hear from Paula.
Rest Area - We would like to see a rest area be erected outside of Chinook and Thom MacLean went through a lot of work to see that happen. Larry would talk to him to see if he would be willing to work with us again to jump through the hoops.
Restaurant Situation in Chinook - Larry and Nancy are to talk with Bob and Gene about getting someone in the Motor Inn.
Travel Montana Tourism Event - Chuck and Larry to attend.
Environmental Assessment Survey for Bear Paw Battlefield. Chuck will handle.
