Old Business:

Ron Fischer - Food Festival - Emailed and said he doesn't have time, but would be interested in participating a bit.  Anyone want to take on this project?

Christmas Lights - Letter to the Editor - need to send off to the papers.  Suggested to re-wrap the Season's Greetings Sign since it is so large and expensive.

Water Tower Project - Chuck to finalize the project - he will be getting the painting company here as soon as it warms up.  Chuck's project money is close, but we need a little bit more so decided it would be acceptable to have the Chamber cover the rest of the costs out of our general operating fund.  Donations always accepted.

Grates around Trees on Main Street - They are done - the City went around and cut the grates from cutting into the trees and is filling with sand.  Thank you to the City - Heather will handle.

Chinook PTO - Heather, Chuck and Jay met with Kitty Tilleman regarding the project's direction, and they feel it would be a better asset down on the highway also.  The PTO agreed to do some more fundraising and the Chamber will also.  It was discussed to possibly use the fundraiser at the All Class Reunion to help fund this project - need to talk about at the next Chamber meeting though.  PTO agreed to take over the Dinner and a Movie night and raise funds for the project that way.  Chuck gave Kitty Tilleman his information on the project.

All Class Reunion Lunch - Chamber BBQ Scheduled for Friday night of the reunion - Larry, Nancy, Heather, Bonnie, Keith and Keri will help organize this project.  We need to discuss how many to plan for, organize a committee, etc.
Also decided that the Chamber needs to have a table setup at the banquet to sell Raffle Tickets as well as sell Memberships to the Chamber.  Need to put together a timeframe of who is handling the table at what times at the next meeting.  Decided on BBQ Beef from Max Hofeldt - Coleslaw from Finley's - Chips and a Roll.

Grants - CTEP Funds - Talked with the Commissioners about CTEP funds and they are very hard to secure.  The only project that would qualify is Chuck's Walking Path, the Christmas Lights do not qualify.  It takes years to achieve funding from CTEP, so we would like to know the Chamber's feelings on this project and if we should take on such an effort.

Heather applied for financial assistance from Triangle Telephone to help with the costs of Tables and Chairs.  Meet once per month so we will know by the end of April if they will give us any money or not.

Annual Banquet - We had an awesome turnout - there were 62 people that attended - great speaker; all in all, very good attendance.

Sugarbeet Festival 2009 - Finalized the theme as the Grain Industry - Colleen Moved and Lynne 2nd.
Harold Miller and Roger Jergeson had very good ideas for this industry:

- Antique Tractor Show
- Semi-Truck Show

- Wheat Tank with Dollar Bills in it for the Kids to dive for.

- Fuel Truck Rally (Nascar Pit Stop), have to get out, open and shut a gate, etc.
- Parade of Power
- Field to Meal

Harold brought to our attention that an announcer would be good, so that people were aware of what was happening where.  Suggested two instead of one, because you can't hear when you are all the way down at the car show, etc.

Need to advertise this state-wide.

Restaurant Situation in Chinook - Larry and Nancy talked with Bob and Gene and they are very interested in helping to get someone in town.  Heather advertised it on Craigslist and also a couple other free internet classified places.  It will be good to get someone in there, and we have had several inquiries from the website.

Memberships - Coming in as we speak.

New Business:

Family Business Award - MSU College of Business - Need local nominations - Heather and Nancy to handle.

Spurs and Saddles Show - Heather will contact Nita to see if she would mind heading this up.  We will hold it in whatever building the Rodeo Committee is having their banquet in, as the commercial building may be under construction.

Commercial Building Meeting - Chuck and Heather attended the meeting on the Commercial Building - Will be adding on and it was funded by the Stimulus pkg.  Will be starting construction soon.

4 Wheeler Raffle - Tickets are done and the 4-wheeler is in.  We can pick it up anytime according to Max and have it for display purposes.  We were thinking of alternating it between banks for a while, on display at the Reunion and of course at the fair where it will be given away.  Tickets distributed to:

Community Center - Waiting to hear on letter to Dixons.

Advertising on the Chameber Site - Still waiting to hear from Paula.

Rest Area - Larry to talk to Thom MacLean

Travel Montana Tourism Event - Chuck and Larry to attend.

Environmental Assessment Survey for Bear Paw Battlefield.  Chuck, Larry, Heather, Nancy and Colleen attended the meeting at the Library and voiced the opinion of the members of the chamber based upon a survey that was conducted via email to the members.  The general consensus of the Chamber is YES - PUT IT AT THE BATTLEFIELD.  We wrote letters to our congressman and also to the head of the NPS - Gary Somers.

Larry Brown - Highway Department - Suggested we write a letter to the Supt. of Highways to fix the highway and resurface it.  Collen moved to write letter, and Bruce 2nd.

Need to write another letter to BNSF and the Hwy Dept for putting in a culvert alongside the railroad tracks to get rid of the slough, and pose safety issues in the letter such as mosquito habitat, West Nile, odor, etc.  Heather will write the letter.

Finalized Business:
Tables and Chairs - Chuck picked them up and they are in the storage facility at the old Armory!  Yay!  There are enough for 100 people and they are ready to go.  The secretary has the key to the storage facility.  We need to schedule a day to put everything in there - Heather will handle.

Motions and Votes:

Treasurers Report:
$10,348.00 in Checking
